Writing A Character-driven Narrative (Part D)

Look at the photo of the lady in Worksheet 8. Let us imagine her to be Ah Soh in Catherine Lim's novel The Jade Pendant. Use descriptive words and phrases to answer the following question:

  1. She spoke with a feeble and hoarse voice so soft that it could hardly be heard.She could only speak dialect with a china accent.She could hardly speak mandarin and when she speaks, the words were not pronounced properly.

  3. the old haggard lady may have a hoarse voice. she might also speak slowly,gently and coughing maybe its due to her old age.she might also look down when she speak and pausing everytime she take a breath.
